Time

Time flies… Here is what I did the since April 2018:

  • April 26-26 2018, London: I attended the Joint ECB-IMF-BoE workshop at the Bank of England, entitled  “International Spillovers of Shocks and Macroeconomic Policies“. Program is here. I discussed two very nice papers on the identification on monetary policy shocks: “International spillovers of the Fed and ECB monetary policy” by Marek Jarocinski (ECB) and “Global contamination of “narrative” monetary policy shock measures” by Michele Ca’ Zorzi (ECB), Massimo Ferrari (Universita Cattol ica di Milano) and Georgios Georgiadis (ECB).   • May 11 2018, Glasgow: I attended the “News, Information and Expectations in Macroeconomics” Workshop at the Adam Smith Business School of the University of Glasgow. I presented there my work with Paul Beaudry on “Real Keynesian Models and Sticky Prices“. The workshop was organised by John Tsoukalas and the program can be found here.
  • May 16-17 2018, Reichenau Island, Konstanz: I attended the Konstanz Seminar on Monetary Theory and Policy, that was organised by Keith Kuester. I presented there my work with Paul Beaudry on “Real Keynesian Models and Sticky Prices”.   • May 24-25 2018, EUI, Firenze: I attended as every year to the Scientific Council of the European University Institute.
  • June 18 2018, UCL, London: I was internal examiner for the viva (thesis defence) of Davide Melcangi, who is since September 2018 an economist in the Macroeconomic and Monetary Studies Function at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
  • June 20 2018, NIESR, London: I have presented “Putting the Cycle Back into Business Cycle Analysis” at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research.
  • June 28-30 2018, ITAM, Mexico: I have presented “Real Keynesian Models and Sticky Prices” at the SED annual conference at ITAM in Mexico City.
  • July 4 2018, Paris: (In French) J’ai participé à une magnifique conférence organisée par Bertrand Wigniolles, conférence en l’honneur d’Antoine d’Autume qui a été mon directeur de thèse à Paris I au début des années 90 et qui prenait sa retraite.   • July 10-12 2018, Vigo, Spain: I attended the annual Vigo workshop at the Castillo de Soutomaior. The program can be found here.
  • September 3, BIS, Basel: I spend the day at the Bank of International Settlements to present “Putting the Cycle Back into Business Cycle Analysis”.
  • September 20-21 2018, Roma: I attended the seventh BI-CEPR Conference on Money, Banking and Finance “Low inflation, low wage dynamics: implications for monetary and financial stability”. I presented “Real Keynesian Models and Sticky Prices” and my discussant was Benoît Mojon. The program of the conference is here.
  • September 28-29, Elunda, Crete: I attended the annual “Hydra” conference organised by Harris Dellas, and presented “Real Keynesian Models and Sticky Prices”. The program of the conference can be found here.
  • October 3 2018, University of Surrey: I spent the day at the School of Economics of the University of Surrey and presented “Putting the Cycle Back into Business Cycle Analysis”.
